Known as the influential nephew of Pope Paul V, Scipione Borghese was a 17th-century Italian cardinal and a popular patron of artists during the Baroque era. He fostered the career of sculptor and architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and amassed a collection of Caravaggio’s works. He was a highly controversial figure who, due to his obsession with art, was known to resort to illegal means of acquiring them. He built the Villa Borghese, which houses the Galleria Borghese, a museum of his extensive collection that still stands today.

The Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Scipione Borghese Limited Edition 4810 fountain pen is inspired by the extravagance of the Villa Borghese, featuring a granite barrel and a cap, section, and barrel-end made of ruthenium-coated brass. The conical barrel-end features an ancient carnelian coin, while the clip is set with a crystal stone. It’s finished with an 18-karat, ruthenium-plated gold nib.

We have for sale a brand-new Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Scipione Borghese Limited Edition 4810 fountain pen with an F nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
