George Bernard Shaw was a prolific playwright and political activist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1925 and an Academy Award for Best Screenplay in 1939 for the film adaptation of his play “Pygmalion” (much to his disdain, as he wanted nothing to do with Hollywood).
He had such an influence on the transformation of comedic drama that Montblanc released the Writers Edition Bernard Shaw in 2008 to commemorate his life’s work. The fountain pen was inspired by “Pygmalion”, with precious resin in marbled green overlaid by a succession of platinum-plated rings symbolizing the social stratification in early 20th-century London and a hat tip to his political commentaries.
We have a brand-new Montblanc Writers Edition George Bernard Shaw fountain pen for sale that comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
