There’s nothing like a welcoming face to greet one after a tiring journey. This is probably the thought of many Edo-period ukiyo-e artists who would drop by Takashima, a popular cake shop that run by Ohisa. She was the owner’s daughter and known for her beauty, so much so that even woodblock print master Kitagawa Utamaro created art inspired by her.
The Namiki Ukiyo-e Ohisa Takashima fountain pen was created by the artisan collaborative Kokkokai in honor of this timeless elegance. It features the traditional hira maki-e technique in which the design is painted and sprinkled with precious metal dust (usually gold) before lacquering to achieve a smooth, flat surface.
We have for sale a brand-new Namiki Ukiyo-e Ohisa Takashima fountain pen with a 14-karat gold B nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
