Ohisa was the daughter of the owner of Takashima, a chain of tea and cake shops in Edo, now Tokyo. Due to her beauty, she became a popular subject for many Ukiyo-e artists in the late 1700s, including Kintagawa Utamoro, a renowned woodblock print master of the time.

Ohisa’s beauty is memorialized on the Namiki Ukiyo-E Ohisa Takashima, as interpreted by the artisan group Kokkokai using the Hira Mak-e technique. Part of the Nippon Art collection, this urushi fountain pen features a 14-karat gold nib.

We have for sale a brand-new Namiki Ukiyo-e Ohisa Takashima fountain pen with an F nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inserts.
