In Japan, koi are said to symbolize perseverance as they are known to swim against currents and surpass great obstacles. They are also considered lucky and are symbols of prosperity and longevity. They are prized fish not only for what they represent, but also for the calm that they bring with their quiet presence and unhurried movements.

Interestingly enough, several patterns are considered rarer than others. Kohaku koi are known for their white body and red markings and are considered one of the oldest varieties, while the ginrin, which also have red markings, have more reflective, diamond-like scales.

These beautiful combinations have been masterfully replicated on the Platinum 3776 Century Koi Celluloid fountain pen. As celluloid is warm to the hand, it offers the same comfort that watching koi invokes.

We have for sale a brand-new Platinum 3776 Century Koi Celluloid with an M nib. It comes complete with its box, papers, and other inclusions.
