The Platinum Izumo Biwatame has an ebonite body lacquered with a rich brown finish. It features the tamenuri technique, which creates the illusion of looking through a pool of water, as suggested by the golden-yellow base that peeks through where the cap and barrel meet. The color is inspired by the biwa, or Japanese loquat, a fruit known for its sweet, tangy flavor and golden-yellow hue.
